Overview

The Import Coordinator will be responsible for managing the flow of all inbound merchandise imported from countries outside of the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Support all inbound operations in accordance with company direction and procedures
  • Support the routing, tracing, and monitoring of all shipments to ensure timely deliveries
  • Update reports, create unload priorities and volume summaries for inbound operations
  • Coordinate with distribution centers and carriers on inbound container and trailer flow, manage and run tracking reports for both internal and external partners, and maintain accurate milestones within our visibility tool
  • Work with the Merchandising team to resolve shipment issues with vendors to mitigate disruptions to the Supply Chain
  • Ability to execute and maintain import policies and operating procedures to ensure efficient and compliant shipments
  • Assist in resolving any issues related to booking with vendor/origin office communications.
  • Maintain data integrity in all operating systems related to Supply Chain
  • Work with Manager, International Transportation to plan and execute yearly contracts with ocean carriers, intermodal providers and drayage companies
  • Audit and recommend approval of all inbound freight payments

  • Other applicable duties, as may be assigned by your manager

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 1-3 years of experience in Supply Chain or Retail Supply Chain is preferred
  • A combination of equivalent work and education may be considered
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office, with strong skills in Excel, as well as Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be detail oriented, respond to rapidly changing priorities, deal with multiple demands, strong analytical aptitude, good organizational and follow-up skills
  • Great verbal and written communicator, able to communicate and interact with internal and external partners
  • Working knowledge of WMS, InforNexus & Oracle a plus
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 35lbs
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed
