Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Photography Assistant to support our studio operations across e-commerce and lifestyle photography. This role is ideal for someone passionate about photography, highly organized, and eager to contribute to a creative team.

Responsibilities

Image Editing & Management

  • Edit(on-white) e-commerce and lifestyle images as needed.
  • Rename, organize, and upload approved images to the website.
  • Download, back up, and manage image files with consistent organizational practices.

 

Studio & Equipment Support

  • Assist in setting up and breaking down photo equipment, props, lighting, and camera gear.
  • Operate and adjust lighting equipment; troubleshoot technical issues during shoots.
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and readiness for shoots.

 

Shoot Assistance

  • Provide proactive support during shoots by anticipating the photographer’s needs.
  • Assist the Senior Photographer on occasional on-location shoots.
  • Help ensure shoots run smoothly and efficiently.

 

Administrative Tasks

  • Monitor and respond to emails related to photography needs.
  • Track and manage deadlines for ongoing and upcoming projects.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in photography, or related field/comparable experience
  • Proficient experiencewith photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaborativeand take initiative.
  • Previous experience in a photography studio, working with external lighting sources and photo gear.
  • Be familiar with setting up and using various camera and lighting setups.
  • A foundational understanding or photography techniques and terminology is important.
  • Knowledge of file formats, image resolution, and color correction.
  • Experience with tethered shooting and image capture software (e.g., CaptureOne, Lightroom).
  • Ability to take direction and work closely with photographers, stylists, and creative teams.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to set up and tear down photography equipment safely, securely and accurately.
